Launching Video Tutorial Series for ROS Simplified
From blogs to videos: making ROS 2 learning more accessible, visual, and beginner-friendly.
Hi, everyone!
This is an unusual post compared to what you generally see from this publication. As you might already know that this publication named ROS Simplified provides beginner friendly ROS 2 tutorials in the form of written articles to make ROS 2 learning more accessible for beginners.
However, recently I have hit a bottleneck!
Writing an article takes too much of time. I have to manage my own ROS 2 learning as well as my university studies alongside managing this publication which sometimes make the posting schedule inconsistent. Because of this issue, I am able to release an average of one or two articles per month only.
This pace of learning is very slow for serious ROS 2 learners and students. I regularly experiment with different formats to break free from this bottleneck.
Recently during this experiment, I started making tutorials in video form and to my surprise I discovered that making one video takes surprisingly less time than writing one article.
Video formats will allow me to release tutorials at a much faster rate which will ultimately benefit serious ROS 2 learners following this publication.
I have already released the first two parts of the tutorial series on my youtube channel.

Switching to video format doesn’t mean the written articles will be abandoned. Written articles offer several advantages like the reader gets the ability to copy paste commands directly which is not possible from a video. So discarding written articles completely is a operational failure.
Instead, I aim to develop an ecosystem where videos will now become the primary method of learning while written articles will act as a reference for commands or revision.
